Cave of the Fire God
This cave delves beneath the Otemba ridge on the island of Onaona in the the Dragon Crescent. It was explored when the island was first discovered, and contains etchings and drawings no doubt made by the ancestors of the Koubula tribe native to the island. The ancient art depicts ritual sacrifices to some draconian beast who belches fire. The legend is curious, because Mt. Otemba went dormant long before humanity existed in the Dragon Isles, and thus the normal mythology of appeasing the "gods" in a volcano to avoid its eruption would not make sense. It is generally thought to be nothing more than a local mirroring of a myth that is otherwise quite among in nearby island tribes, some of which inhabit islands whose volcanic cores are still partially active.
In recent times, a detachment of the Drakkar Clan excavated hitherto undiscovered depths of the cave and built a stone altar, on which they sacrificed first material wealth, then animals, and finally living humans. Their final sacrifice was thwarted by travelers to Koukora, saving the lives of four natives.
